Principal's Message - November

Principal's Message - November
Posted on 11/01/2017
Principal Mitch HammondThank you, parents and staff, so much, for the incredible efforts making Halloween celebrations a success. It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying the parade and supporting their children’s classroom parties. From scary to funny, subtle to over-the-top, a variety of costumes graced the halls of High Prairie Elementary School. I am grateful to all those who volunteered their time to make this a successful event.

Looking back and reviewing what has happened during October, we started off the month with Mr. Steenson and Mrs Corless taking their first level of VITRA training. This program will help us better communicate with all of our community partners – From the RCMP to Family Services. Mrs. Griffiths organized our first author visit of the year. Jacqueline Guest involved the students in an exciting presentation full of vivid imagery and costume changes. I was sure that I got to see a Metis fur trader but you’ll have to ask your children to be certain.

As we transition into November, we are preparing for Student Led Conferences, set for November 22 and 23. There is ample time for classroom visits and we are all eager to chat with you.

Until then, enjoy the snow.

Mr. Hammond
